A Murder Is Announced by Agatha Christie

A Murder Is Announced - Agatha Christie

Synopsis

The villagers of Chipping Cleghorn, including Miss Marple, are agog with curiosity over an advertisement in the local gazette which reads 'A murder is announced and will take place on Friday October 29th, at Little Paddocks at 6.30pm'. Is this just a childish prank, or something a lot more sinister?

Review

I don't know what it is about an Agatha Christie book that when I finish it, all I want to do is stand up, clap, and shout "Encore, Encore". Not only does she leave me wanting more, but also baffled on how I could be so stupid.

She basically has all the evidence out for you to see, and you're still wrong on who the killer is. All your thinking is; "I did not see that coming".

Only an author like Agatha Christie can do that to you.

There is so much I want to talk about in regards to A Murder Is Announced, but unfortunately this one you need to go in completely blind. Not only are there many suspects, but just mentioning one little detail might give the game away.

So even though this "review" is short and might not really seem like one, I apologise.

All you're getting out of me is it's absolutely brilliant and you need to pick this book up as soon as possible. Maybe then we can talk about it together, and gush on and on about it.
